THE BATTLE OF BOAT
The Battle of Boat is a courageous tale of a group of children trying to find their place in a world at war in 1916. Frustrated by their inability to join the soldiers in battle, the children decide to do whatever it takes to help in the war effort. However, they soon have to tackle their own conflict in the form of a local gang of bullies who will stop at nothing to see every plan they form fail. Heartwarming, funny, emotional and exciting, this original new musical is a true celebration of the steadfast British spirit that shone through during WW1.
Warringtons leading youth musical theatre company!
In 1996 2 amateur dramatics enthusiasts realised there was a fantastic opportunity for youngsters in Warrington to get involved with musical theatre, this is where CODYS was born!
We perform two shows each year at the Brindley theatre in Runcorn. Productions have included Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon and Les Misérables! Membership consists of around 60 members aged 11 -18. Entirely self-funded, our members work tirelessly running charity events, alongside day jobs and regular rehearsals to raise funds to help towards the ever-growing cost of the shows. Affiliated with NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) we have won many awards and the support of our fans makes a real difference to the spectacular level of show we can continue to entertain you with!
